The meeting reviewed the proposed Traffic Mobility and Last-Mile Connectivity Study for the corridor, focusing on improving pedestrian movement, public transport connectivity, traffic management, and safe access to Metro stations and surrounding areas. The proposed study will cover continuous footpath connectivity, involving assessment of the approximately 8.5-km corridor to identify missing footpath links, pedestrian crossings, encroachments and unsafe sections requiring improvement. It will also cover auto-rickshaw and feeder connectivity by identifying suitable pick-up and drop-off bays and designated feeder auto stands at Metro stations and major junctions. Regarding police and traffic management, the study will review congestion points, accident-prone locations, pedestrian crossings, signage, barricading, and traffic regulation needs.

Key areas of study

The study will assess school transport and peak-hour mobility, including school bus and van movement and congestion caused by parent vehicles. It will explore school-child car-pooling through designated pick-up and drop-off zones away from the main carriageway to improve safety and reduce traffic near schools. On the Metro feeder and last-mile network, the study will look at the integration of walking, cycling, feeder autos, and e-autos with schools, offices, residential areas, and commercial establishments to strengthen last-mile connectivity. The study will examine the corridor end-to-end, from Metro stations to the last mile, aiming to identify practical and coordinated mobility improvements for commuters, pedestrians, and students. The initiative seeks to strengthen connectivity between Metro stations and surrounding neighbourhoods while improving pedestrian accessibility, public transport integration, traffic management, and overall mobility along the JNTU–Miyapur–Raidurg corridor. Cyberabad Municipal Corporation(CMC) Commissioner G Srijana, MD, RTC Nagi Reddy, the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Cyberabad, the Zonal Commissioners of Cyberabad, Heads of Departments, and other concerned officials participated in the meeting. ]]>
