Ashok Leyland starts building battery plant in Tamil Nadu for electric trucks and buses

Ashok Leyland has broken ground for a ₹400–500 crore battery pack manufacturing facility at Pillaipakkam near Chennai, aiming to localise EV battery production and strengthen India’s electric mobility supply chain.
